Community advocacy support
Sometimes people are in need of somebody to speak up for them, we are aware of great organisations such as citizens advice, but we offer a limited level of support for people who may need help with forms or advocacy. People we have helped have included elderly people who need help with claiming a benefit or contacting the council.
Other examples include, A mother who needed support at the local police station after her son was arrested and a woman with Fibromyalgia who needed help appealing a benefit rejection. We re not legal advisors but we will offer companionship where we can for things such as tribunal hearings or attending school meetings with problematic children. We do not want anyone to be alone so we can be there to offer support or point them in the right direction.
